Well, here we are! This picture is actually fairly old, but we still look pretty much like this, except that both of us have longer hair now, and Michael has a longer beard. And we are both more gray, of course! <g>
I began studying the Craft in 1979, and was initiated in 1980 into an eclectic Coven consisting of my ex-husband and myself. That was on a desert island (Okinawa, during the worst drought they had ever had. We had water for 12 hours every other day for most of a year, if I recall correctly) so there wasn't a whole lot of Pagan activity I could be involved in.
We came back to the States in December of 1982. Since then I have worked both as a solitary and in covens; some eclectic, some Gardnarian, some other traditions with many fine folk.
My ex left in 1987 (I got my divorce on Pearl Harbor Day!) and I married my wonderful husband, Michael Short in August of 1990. (We were supposed to get married in October; but he went into super-ventricular tachycardia in the middle of the art show at Gencon, and they had to take him away in two ambulances, and gave him a ticket because his heart was speeding at 286 beats a minute, and we had to get married in Traffic Court - but that's another story!)
He had been initiated into a Gardnarian coven in 1989, so that worked out really, really well. And in the fall of 1991 we started our own eclectic Coven in the tradition that has since become known as Livingtree. At this point the original coven has been disbanded, because of my health (I have Fibromyalgia) but the "graduates" are teaching their own students across the country, so I am very happy about that (and very proud of all of you.)
I began to illustrate books for Llewellyn in 1983, and did dozens of them, including many of Scott Cunningham's. I also did a Tarot Deck that came out in 1991 ( I had started working on it 'way back in Okinawa in 1980!) It's called the Robin Wood Tarot, and has turned out to be quite popular.
I have published two books; the first is about ethics from a Wiccan/Pagan perspective. It's called "When, Why ...If" (I figured you already knew What, Where, How and To Whom.) The second is a book about my Tarot Deck called "Robin Wood Tarot: The Book." If you want to know more about them, or about the Tarot Deck, check out my Catalog. (But you may want to bookmark this site first, because there is no easy way back here from there. (Michael works for Ford, and is a little nervous about being that far out of the broom closet.)
In December of 1999, we were joined by my lovely and talented Personal Assistant, Skyia. She is beautiful and funny, as well as being an engineer (a very handy sort of person to have around the house! <g>) and a healer and massage therapist. She is so very good at the later two things that she can free me entirely from the pain of the Fibromyalgia. We are hoping that soon I will be able to go back to actual analog paint! (Something I haven't been able to do in years.)
She will be coming to most of the festivals and shows with me, and can teach her techniques, if anyone is interested.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop me a line. I probably won't be able to respond right away, but I'll do my best. And you should eventually get a response! <g>
In the meantime, Bright Blessings, and enjoy my site!
